Having only 5 students 2 mentors and 150 implants will give each student maximum attention and opportunity in acquiring the skills necessary. Each doctor will have their own chair and a dedicated surgical assistant. 3rdSET® Implant Courses were created with the dental professional in mind; our goal is to help you achieve a complete understanding of every facet of implant dentistry. The program is a true training continuum of mentored education that builds not only your understanding of the intricacies in implant treatment, but trains your staff and helps to restructure your practice to achieve your goals.
Once all participants arrive in San Diego Airport they will be greeted by 3rdSET® personnel and course directors. We then head to the clinic in Baja, Mexico. Please wear comfortable clinical attire and bring your loupes/eye wear. The trip from the airport to the clinic is about 30-40 minutes. Upon arrival we will begin with a short lecture followed by lunch at the clinic. There will be a maximum of 5 student residents and our course directors will provide direct chair-side mentorship. Each student resident will have their own chair and a dedicated surgical assistant. Pictures and videos from hands on surgeries will be used to accentuate each resident’s surgical experience.
The Surgeries in this Dental Implant Course will be taught in the most comprehensive and evidence based style according to the latest surgical advancements. Emphasis will be based on Carl E. Misch studies and protocols as well as other well respected industry leaders such as Paolo Malo. This is a great implant course for the beginner to advanced, as well as the more skilled practitioner who is interested in improving their skill.
Each student will receive 38 PACE CE Credits sponsored by: NEODENT
The objective of this implant course is to provide implants to patients. Patients may require immediate implant placement and or edentulous space implant placement. These surgeries will also incorporate incision design, grafting, membrane placement, suture design and more complex procedures such as hydraulic sinus lifts and ridge split techniques to allow for immediate implant placement. It is not uncommon to place multiple implants on the same patient.
Surgical patient treatments will begin as soon as we reach the destination. Each student resident will get their own patient and will start by diagnosis and treatment planning followed immediately by surgery. The assistants are experienced in providing the help and Dr. Ebrahim and Dr. Athari are on the clinic floor ready for hands on assistance in providing the clinical education. Once each clinic day is complete we will have dinner at a restaurant of choice. We will meet again the next morning for breakfast followed by transportation to the clinic. Each day we will have new patients with new treatment plans and surgeries.
Please bring a valid passport for reentry to the US. It is highly recommended to plan for your departure from San Diego airport after 5 pm on Sunday. The course fee includes all your transportation, food, and lodging after your arrival into San Diego airport. Our combined objective is to allow resident doctors to place implants in their own clinical settings at a more confident level based on researched data in clinical dentistry.
